Irish Salt Mines No.2 Drift Completed

Irish Salt Mining & Exploration Company Ltd have completed work on their new
£7m mine access drift which is now fully operational.

The old access drift, constructed when the mine opened in 1965, was some
3km from the current active workings and a new drift was considered
necessary to improve access and working efficiency.

Six West was appointed by the contractor, Joseph Gallagher Group, to provide survey control for the project.

Pleased to report the 1km long drift holed existing mine workings as planned
and the final misclosure was better than 10mm
