Irish Salt Mines New £7m No.2 Drift Project

Irish Salt Mining & Exploration Company Ltd have commenced work on their new £7m mine access drift.

The existing access drift, constructed when the mine opened in 1965, is now some 3km from the current active workings and a new drift was considered necessary to improve access and working efficiency.

Six West have been appointed by the contractor, Joseph Gallagher Group, to provide survey control for the project.
